Pentadecane \Pen`ta*dec"ane\, n. [Penta- + Gr. ? ten.] (Chem.)
   A hydrocarbon of the paraffin series, (C15H32) found in
   petroleum, tar oil, etc., and obtained as a colorless liquid;
   -- so called from the fifteen carbon atoms in the molecule.
